Vegetarian Quiche

- Pastry shopping list
- Half kilo flour shopping list
- 250 gr of good butter straight from fridge shopping list
- 2.5 tbl oilive oil shopping list
- Half glass ice cold water shopping list
- Quiche filling shopping list
- Glass of natural yogurt shopping list
- 2 X glass of grated mature cheese shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 200 ml of milk shopping list
- tsp ground nutmeg shopping list
- salt pepper shopping list
- variety of diced vegetables of your liking, par boiled/roasted or stir fried as desired (carrots, spinach,parnsips, cauliflower, mushrooms, onion, garlic shopping list
How to make it
- To make the pastry combine all of the ingredients and with a knife break up the butter. Add ice cold water quickly to get it into a campact ball without being too fussy in ensuring all the butter is rubbed in properly. NB-water has to be very cold when adding to bind. Speed and efficiency is key here. Once you have a block of pastry -leave to sit in a fridge for min two hours.
- remove and grease a baking tray or dish-roll out the pastry so that it is even and not too thick.few mil is good
- To make the filling simply whisk together all the ingredients except the vegetables/one cup of cheese until fluffy. Add the par cooked veg to the pastry lined tray and then add in the quiche mixture . Sprinke over the last cup of cheese, salt and pepper.
- Pre heat oven to 180 deg C and let it cook here for 40 mins or unti browning.
