Ingredients
  • 8 firm flesh white fish filets (cod, haddock, pollock, catfish)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced

Directions
  1. Rinse fish filets and pat dry. Arrange in large baking dish in a single layer.
  2. In small skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute until softened.
  3. Combine cream cheese, wine, horseradish, mustard, salt and pepper. Stir into onion in skillet.
  4. Pour mixture over fish. Top with crumbled bacon.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until fish flakes easily.
  6. Garnish with parsley.
  7. I like to serve the filets on a bed of sauteed fresh spinach.

Fish on Friday...Thanks for a great idea!

This looks like a great recipe! Thanks for sharing it. I am always looking for different ways to prepare fish since we have it in abundance here...yeah, I am so fortunate that way. I can see adding a crab mixture to this too! Mmmmm
