Ingredients

How to make it

  • Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water in a large bowl, let stand 5 minutes.
  • Add 1 1/2 cups flour, whole wheat flour, honey, butter and salt to yeast mixture, stir until well blended.
  • Add another 1/4 cup flour , stir until a soft dough forms.
  • Turn dough out onto a floured surface. Knead until smooth and elastic (about 8 minutes)
  • Add enough remaining flour , 1 TBS at a time to keep it from sticking to hands.
  • Place dough in large bowl coated with cooking spray (I like to use a large glass bowl for this) Cover and let rise in warm place free from drafts 1 hour or until doubled.
  • To check dough press two fingers in dough and if indentation stays it has rised enough.
  • Seperate into golf ball size pieces and flatten slightly. Place on greased baking sheet.
  • Cover and place in warm area free of drafts for about 45 minutes, until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake rolls 12 minutes or untill lightly browned.
  • Note=To cover I use either platic wrap or small towel.
