Shrimp Etouffee From Emerils Real And Rustic Cookbook

- 1 1/2 sticks butter shopping list
- 4 cups chopped onion shopping list
- 2 cups chopped bell pepper shopping list
- 2 cups chopped celery shopping list
- 2 tsp chopped garlic shopping list
- 2 lobs medium shrimp, pealled an deveined shopping list
- 2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp cayenne shopping list
- 2 Tbsp flour shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 6 Tbsp chapped parsley shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped green onion shopping list
How to make it
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add onion, bell pepper, and celery and saute until soft and tender, about 10 minutes.
- Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add shrimp, salt and cayenne and cook for about 4 minutes or until the shrimp turns pink.
- Dissolve the flour in the water and add to the shrimp mixture.
- Stir until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occcasionally.
- Add the parsley and green onion.
- Stir and cook for 2 minutes more.
- Serve right away.
