Favorite No-mayo Cole Slaw Recipe
I love this cole slaw because it has an oil and vinegar base and lasts for several days. Ok, first I love it for the flavor!

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds cabbage, (2 heads)
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 2 medium red onions
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil

Directions
  1. Shred veggies.
  2. Heat sugar and vinegar until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add salt and pepper, oil and celery seed.
  4. Pour over vegetables , cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. I substitute one red bell pepper for one green bell pepper, for added color.
  6. Here's a thought, buy your cabbage already shredded or use the proper attachment on a food processor.
  7. Very quick and you can save a bunch of prep time!
  8. This recipe will last at least a week in the fridge.
