Easy Berry Monkey Bread
From thepiggs 17 years agoIngredients
- ⅔ cup sugar shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons cinnamon, divided shopping list
- 1¼ - 1½ cups blueberries or blackberries shopping list
- ⅔ cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1¼ sticks (10 tablespoons) margarine shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 4 pkgs (10 oz ea) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits shopping list
How to make it
- Thoroughly grease a 10 x 4 tube pan.
- Mix ⅔ cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon.
- Cut biscuits in quarters. Roll each piece in sugar mixture.
- Arrange about one-fourth of the biscuit pieces and ¼ - ½ cup of the berries in an even layer in pan.
- Place blueberries between biscuit pieces, creating a mosaic effect. Repeat three more times with remaining biscuits and berries, covering berries of one layer with biscuits in next layer to avoid a column of berries.
- In saucepan combine sugar, margarine, vanilla, cinnamon and the additional 1 cup berries. Bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cook, stirring frequently until sugar is dissolved and margarine melted. Pour over biscuits in pan.
- Bake in a preheated 350ºF oven for 65 minutes or until done.
- Lift or turn out onto cake plate.

My daughter makes these every weekend for her monkeys! Now when the 2 oldest come home on leave they want these first! She uses pecans part of the time, also dried cranberries and pecans... OMG these are so cheap and soooooo good!
