I love this mixture for a get-together of friends and family. It's also handy to give away in a fancy tin or bag during the holidays.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Shreddies
  • 2 cups Corn Chex
  • 2 cups Rice Chex
  • 2 cups Apple Cinnamon Cheerios
  • 3 cups peanuts or mixed nuts
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2-1/2 Tablespoons apple juice, orange juice or water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (depends how hot you like it)

Directions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Spray with cooking spray or grease a 15 x 10 x 1 inch cookie sheet.
  3. In very LARGE bowl, mix cereals and peanuts / mixed nuts.
  4. In a small bowl, using a wire whisk or a hand beater, beat egg whites, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon and cayenne pepper until foamy.
  5. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until each piece is coated.
  6. Spread onto pan.
  7. Bake 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until lightly browned and crisp.
  8. Cool completely for approximately 1 hour.
  9. Store in airtight container.
  10. *You will find that the baked on egg white and sugar mixture gives a light crispy coating to the cereals and nuts.
  11. Makes: 8 cups
