I haven't found anyone who does not like this cake. Simple to make...no one can quite put their finger on the flavor....of course, Watkins Extracts are the key...the flavors don't bake out.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 3-1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs beaten well
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1-1/2 tsp Watkins Coconut extract
  • 1-1/2 tsp Watkins Rum extract
  • 1-1/2 tsp Watkins Butter extract
  • 1-1/2 tsp Lemon extract
  • 1-1/2 tsp Watkins Double Strength Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp Watkins Almond extract
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions
  1. Cream together butter, shortening and 3 cups of the sugar, until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and beat until smooth
  3. In a small bowl combine flour and baking powder...set aside.
  4. Combine milk and 1 tsp of first five extracts.
  5. Add flour mixture to the cream mixture, alternately with milk mixture.
  6. Pour batter into bundt cake pan.
  7. Bake 90 minutes at 325 degrees...or until cake test done.
  8. Make glaze while cake is baking.
  9. Combine 1/2 tsp each of all six extracts, 1/2 cup sugar and water.
  10. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  11. Let cool slightly.
  12. Slowly spoon cooled glaze over hot cake.
  13. Let cool completely.
  14. Enjoy!
