Growing up I spent many a Sunday afternoon helping my Grandmother in the kitchen making this wonderful, sweet and oh so delicious cake! The smells coming from the kitchen would bring the family running !!!

Ingredients
  • 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 Tall Can Crushed Pineapple, Undrained
  • 3 Cups Fresh Blueberries
  • 3/4 Cup Granulated Sugar (for coating blueberries if desired)
  • 1 Cup Chopped Pecans
  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter (or margarine), Melted
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar (for coating pecans if desired)
  • Optional Additional Ingredients:
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter (or margarine), Melted
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Pecans (Can be added to cake mix before sprinkling)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350'.
  2. Butter a 9 x 13 baking dish.
  3. Pour can of pineapple into baking dish.
  4. Coat blueberries with 3/4 cup sugar and pour on top of pineapple.
  5. Optional: Add 1 Tablespoon melted butter to the blueberries and sugar to help the sugar stick to the berries.
  6. Sprinkle dry yellow cake mix on top of blueberries.
  7. Optional: Add 1/2 cup chopped pecans to cake mix before sprinkling.
  8. Drizzle melted stick of butter on top of cake mix.
  9. Mix 1/4 cup sugar with 1 cup pecans and sprinkle on top.
  10. Optional: Add 1 tablespoon melted butter to help sugar stick to pecans.
  11. Bake at 350' for 1 hour.
  12. Enjoy!!
