Ingredients
  • 1 Can (14 1/2 oz) Tomatoes,crushed with liquid
  • 1/2 Teaspoon baking soda-needed to keep milk from curdling-
  • 1/4 Teaspoon garlic salt -or -less
  • 2 Cups whole milk
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • Pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Heat tomatoes until boiling in heavy sauce pan.
  2. Remove from heat
  3. Add baking soda,stir
  4. Return to stove and over medium heat
  5. Add the garlic salt,pepper,milk,butter
  6. Heat through-Do Not Boil-
  7. Enjoy

My great Aunt use to make tomato soup like this..she would use home canned tomatoes.. but I remember how wonderful that tasted on a cold afternoon with some homemade bread.. yummmmm
