This is just a way to make licorice tasting alcohol that can be added with rootbeer or absinthe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp chopped dried angelica root
  • 1 3 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 whole clove
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 vanilla bean split
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp anise seed extract
  • 1/2 tsp banana extract
  • 1/2 tsp (scant) pineapple extract
  • 3 cups vodka
  • 1 tsp glycerine
  • 3 drops yellow food coloring

Directions
  1. Put angelica, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and vanilla bean in medium sauce pan and add water slowley
  2. Heat to a boil, remove from heat.
  3. Stand 15 seconds then pour through wire mesh strainer, lined with a coffee fliter into a bowl
  4. Rinse saucepan and pour liquid back into it
  5. Add vanilla bean and sugar. Heat to boil, reduce hear and sinner 1 minute. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and cool
  6. Add lemon juice, extracts, and vodka, stirring to combine pour into aging container and age for one week
  7. strain. add glycerine and coloring. Seal for 3 to 6 months.
