I found this recipe in a circa 1930's community cookbook that my Mom grew up with in Kansas...cover is long gone! I thought it was interesting.

4 cups equal 1 quart...great post btw! love the name too! It will be a lot like baked custard, you might like to add a water bath - check out your baked custard recipes - and you will see what I mean... I checked mine to make sure - it's done when a knife comes out clean, then carefully remove dish out of water bath to let cool on counter...
