Chocolate Walnut Bread Pudding

- 6 cups cubed stale Italian bread shopping list
- 1 cup chopped toasted walnuts shopping list
- 4 cups milk shopping list
- 3 tablespoons unslated butter shopping list
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 4 ounces semisweet chocolate shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 2 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- white chocolate Sauce: shopping list
- 1 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tablespoons cold water shopping list
- 3 ounces white chocolate shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350 degrees; grease shallow 2 quart baking dish with butter.
- Add bread, walnuts to dish.
- Combine 2 cups milk, butter, sugar, salt in saucepan; bring to simmer; stir to melt butter; remove from heat.
- Add chocolates; let stand 5 minutes; whisk until smooth.
- Whisk eggs, vanilla and remaining milk in bowl.
- Whisk into chocolate mixture; pour over bread.
- Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until set in center.
- For the sauce...
- Bring cream, sugar and salt in saucepan to a simmer.
- Stir in cornstarch; simmer, stirring, until thickened, about 1 minute.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in white chocolate and vanilla until smooth.
- Serve over warm or room temp pudding.
