How to make it

  • break the aamli into pieces
  • add sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan ,cook until syrupy
  • add chillies and salt
  • add pieces of aamli
  • cook until dry
  • put teaspoonful onto plastic wrappers
  • store in a cool dry place

    Is Aamli some kind of tamarind or preserved sour/citrus/mango fruit? I've eaten candy that sounds like this from Thailand, which is tamarind pulp flavoured with chili, salt and sugar. It's really good and once you start you can't stop lol. Thanks for sharing. Don't know if I can get the ingredients, so I'll go buy some tamarind candy tomorrow and think of you while I'm eating it lol
