How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 then grease rectangular pan and set aside.
  • Combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, butter and walnuts until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
  • Stir in nuts and reserve.
  • Cream butter until fluffy then add sugar and lemon rind and beat well.
  • Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition.
  • Mix dry ingredients then add dry mixture alternately with sour cream to creamed mixture.
  • Blend well after each addition then spread batter evenly in prepared baking pan.
  • Sprinkle berries over batter then sprinkle reserved topping over berries.
  • Bake for 30 minutes and serve warm.

    I have blackberries growing wild in my yard and have tons every summer. This recipe will be a great add for the coming season.

    I spent last summer in Oregon picking tons of blackberries on my sisters 40+ acres. I made blackberry EVERYTHING! Will be going back there again this summer and will take this recipe with me. Thanks for the post! and some sweet sweet memories!
