Brownie Date Tart

- Tart Shell: shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons sugar shopping list
- 2 egg yolks shopping list
- 1 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate shopping list
- 1 cup slivered almonds shopping list
- 2 egg whites shopping list
- 3/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 3/4 cup chopped dates shopping list
How to make it
- Beat butter until soft; beat in 2 tablespoons sugar; add egg yolks.
- Stir in flour.
- Shape into smooth ball and press onto bottom and sides of 9 inch tart or springform pan.
- Melt Chocolate in saucepan over low heat; cool.
- Toast slivered almonds, then chop.
- Beat egg whites until foamy throughout.
- Gradually beat in 3/4 cup sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks will form, about 10 minutes.
- Blend in chocolate and vanilla.
- Add almonds and dates; spread evenly in crust.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until crust is golden; cool.
- Remove outer ring.
- Garnish with whipped topping, almonds and chocolate curls.
