Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cook bacon, reserving drippings
  • Crumble bacon
  • Add sugar and vinegar to bacon drippings
  • Layer *half* of the drained green beans in casserole dish
  • Add *half* the crumbled bacon
  • Add *half* the almonds
  • Repeat layers
  • Pour prepared drippings over all
  • Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 45 minutes or until heated through
  • Okay, nothing else will make this recipe taste like this and give it the flavor, except the "drippings" mixture.. ....sorry. :)

I LOVE the idea of the drippings and vinegar. This is how my Gran used to make beans in Kansas...but I am going to try it with fresh green beans, since they are easily gotten.
