Bourbon Chocolate Torte Recipe

Ingredients

2 packages ( 8-ounces each) semisweet chocolate squares, chopped... use the best quality that you can find

1 cup butter, cut into pieces

2 cups sugar

3/4 cup pecan pieces, toasted

1/4 cup bourbon, one with a good flavor

8 eggs

1 TBSP. powdered sugar

Directions

grease a 10-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper or waxed paper. grease the paper and set aside

Microwave chocolate and butter in a 1 quart glass measuring cup

on medium power (50%) for 5 to 7 minutes or until melted

stirring every minute

let stand for 15 minutes

Process sugar and the pecans in a food processor until ground

stopping once to scrape down the sides

transfer to a large mixing bowl

stir bourbon into the nut mixture

add eggs one at a time beating on low speed until blended after each addition

add chocolate mixture and beat on low speed until blended

pour into the prepared springform pan

preheat oven to 350'F and bake for 30 minutes or until set.

cool completely in the pan on a wire rack

then remove sides of pan. cover torte and chill for 8 hours

sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving

for the chocoholics the cookbook suggests serving with warm
