Ingredients

How to make it

  • Put butter in pan on top of stove.
  • Add about 1, up to 1 1/2 cups brown sugar.
  • Use low to medium low heat.
  • After it melts, stir in 1/4 cup milk.
  • Bring to a hard boil and let it boil 1 minute or up to 2 minutes but NO LONGER or it will set up too hard.
  • Take off heat and pour over about 1/2 up to 3/4 box (1 pound box) of 10X sugar.
  • Beat well.
  • Beat in 1 tsp vanilla.
  • If too thick, add more milk.

    Sounds great! Years ago when our school group would have bake sales....one girl's grandma would always bake a caramel cake that looked so good! It never sat on the table long at all!! Thanks for sharing. Using this for a cake this weekend(youth group bake sale at church) Jett
