How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar
  • In a separate large bowl, combine the ground chuck , bread, onions, bell pepper, eggs, worcestershire sauce, seasonings and 1/3 of the ketchup mixture from the small bowl.
  • Mix this well and place in your meatloaf pan
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, drain any excess fat, coat with remaining ketchup mixture and bake for 10 more minutes.

    Just made this last night and everyone loved it. I have my own recipe but it didn't include the peppers and thought I'd try the bread instead of bread crumbs etc. It was super yummy :)

    A good meatloaf is sure comfy food! A trick I have learned over the years...you can choose to saute your finely diced veggies before mixing them in the meat to get a less crunchy texture...just an idea.
