Ingredients
  • 1 cup (500g) orlled oats
  • 1 cup bran flakes
  • 1 cup hazelnuts, choopped
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dried coconut
  • 1/2 cupsunflower seeds, shelled
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup prunes, chopped
  • 3/4 cup dried apricots, chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup dried currants
  • 1/2 cup veg etable or sunflower oil

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375F, 180C, Gas Mark 4 1/2
  2. Spread oats, bran flakes, almonds, sunflower seeds and hazlenuts in a large roasting pan and bake for 15minutes, stirring every 5 minutes
  3. Add coconut and bake for another 5 minutes
  4. Stir
  5. Mix honey, oil and cinnamon in a mixing bowl
  6. Add to baking mixture and stir well
  7. Bake for a further 5 - 10 minutes, stirring once
  8. Cool mixture for 15 minutes before adding dried fruit
  9. Cool to room temperature
  10. Store in an airtight container

Thanks Tippy, this sounds so good. I love to see recipes using honey as sweetener. We buy honey 5 gal. at a time from a local bee keeper. this is a good one and you have my 5!


Very nice, no doubt about it I will have to get a bigger note book to put these in.
