Ingredients
  • 2 C. Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (Cracker Barrel suggested)
  • 1 small onion, grated or finely chopped.
  • 1/2-3/4 Cup mayonnaise (Helmann's suggested, do not use Miracle Whip)
  • 1 can sliced black olives
  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 1 loaf cocktail rye bread

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. With scissors, cut across entire package of bacon, into 1 inch pieces
  3. Fry until crisp and place on paper towels to drain
  4. Do not use bacon bits, it's just not the same
  5. Mix cheese, onion, mayo and olives
  6. Spread cheese mixture on cocktail rye bread, place on cookie sheet
  7. Sprinkle each slice with bacon pieces
  8. Bake on middle rack for 15-20 minutes
  9. Serve while hot, they won't last long!
