Ingredients
  • 1 package dried seaweed (1 ounce is enough for 4 servings)
  • 6 cups Vegetable broth
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame oil
  • Naturally-brewed soy sauce or sea salt, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced

Directions
  1. Soak the seaweed in water for 2 hours, or until soft.
  2. Drain and rinse REALLY WELL, as dried seaweed can come with a lot of dirt, just like spinach.
  3. Put all ingredients, including seaweed, into a large pot and bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Koreans traditionally enjoy this soup with a bowl of rice, white or brown - sometimes together in the same bowl.
  5. This soup is an excellent blood cleanser, and is believed to support optimal brain function.

I'm just learning to make sushi so I have pkgs of nori just lying around. Will make this to serve with the sushi. Thanks again.

This looks really good. I have been looking for a way to make seaweed soup but all recipes I find have meat in it and I had no clue how to alter it to make it meatless. Thank you

I have always loved seaweed soup, but had no idea how to make it. Thanks very much. Will definately be trying this.
