chicken drumsticks stuffed with cornbread dressing, a wonderfull alternative to fried .I served it with mashed potatoes and gravy. family was wowed

Ingredients
  • 10-12 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery include leaves
  • 5 cloves of garlic chopped
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 box prepared cornbread stuffing
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp sage

Directions
  1. melt margarine and sautee onion,garlic and celery till soft.
  2. follow directions for amount of liquid on your prefered stuffing mix
  3. add the sauteed onions garlic and celery.along with the remaining margarine in the pan.
  4. add thyme and sage (these measurements are based on my families taste so adjust accordingly)
  5. allow to sit for awhile to cool for handleing.
  6. rinse drumsticks and pull back the skins
  7. using a small spoon stuff the filling between skin and meat,pulling the skin up and over the filling.
  8. the filling will be mostly on one side.
  9. lay this side up in a cassarole dish.
  10. there will be left over stuffing
  11. pour chicken broth on top
  12. season as you prefer.
  13. cover with foil
  14. bake at 350
  15. cooking time depends upon the size of the drumsticks
