Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400
  • Heat oil in large heavy skillet over medium high heat
  • Saute beef and pork until brown
  • Stir until all juices have evaporated
  • Add onions, celery, green pepper and garlic
  • Saute until veges are wilted, about 3 - 5 minutes
  • Reduce heat to low, cover and cook 60 minutes
  • Add beef stock occasionally to prevent sticking
  • Season with salt & pepper
  • Remove from heat & cool to room temperature
  • Cut pie crusts in half
  • Spoon 1/4 meat mixture into each of the 4 pie crust halves
  • Mix egg with 1/2 cup water
  • Brush egg wash around edge of pie crusts
  • Fold pie crusts over and press edges with fork to seal.
  • Place on greased cookie sheet
  • Make 3 small slits in each pie to vent steam
  • Brush remaining egg wash over each pie and bake 30 minutes.
  • These meat pies may also be deep fried ( YUM!)
