How to make it

  • Coarsely chop the hazelnuts.
  • In a blender, finely grind nuts, 1/3 at a time, until mealy.
  • Add cornstarch mixture, powdered sugar and vanilla, and blend until paste forms.
  • Store in a covered container for up to 3 months in the fridge.

    Like PB, though it's sweet (but goooooood)... I have a few recipes for cakes and cookies in my old European cookbooks that call for it too. Basically it's Nutella without the chocolate.
