Skillet Braised Brussels Sprouts

- 4 slices bacon, chopped fine shopping list
- 2 shallots, thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 lb. Brussels sprouts, stem ends trimmed, halved through the stems shopping list
- 1/2 C. water shopping list
- salt shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. butter shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar shopping list
- pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Cook the bacon and shallots in a 12 inch skillet over medium heat until bacon is crisp and the shallots are browned
- Remove to a paper towel lined plate
- Add the Burssells sprouts, water and 1/2 tsp. salt to the skillet and increase the heat to medium high
- Cover and simmer until the sprouts are bright green, about 9-10 minutes
- Uncover and cook until the liquid has evaporated and the sprouts are tender, about 5 minutes longer
- Remove pan from heat and add the bacon and shallot mixture, butter and vinegar
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
