How to make it

  • Open green beans. Drain the liquid from one can and reserve the liquid from the other.
  • In a frying pan fry the bacon until crispy. Reserve the drippings. Crumble the bacon.
  • Saute the onion in the bacon drippings.
  • Stir in the flour, liquid from the beans, salt, pepper and vinegar. Bring to a boil.
  • Add the drained green beans and crumbled bacon.
  • Cook until warmed through.
  • You may chill this over night to serve cold.
  • For variations you can add sliced, fresh mushrooms, a few bits of chopped red bell pepper, and/or a bit of chopped fresh white onion.
