Sweet And Sour Green Beans With Bacon

- 2 16oz cans of cut green beans shopping list
- 4 strips of bacon shopping list
- 1 large onion, chopped shopping list
- 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp pepper shopping list
- 4 Tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup vinegar shopping list
How to make it
- Open green beans. Drain the liquid from one can and reserve the liquid from the other.
- In a frying pan fry the bacon until crispy. Reserve the drippings. Crumble the bacon.
- Saute the onion in the bacon drippings.
- Stir in the flour, liquid from the beans, salt, pepper and vinegar. Bring to a boil.
- Add the drained green beans and crumbled bacon.
- Cook until warmed through.
- You may chill this over night to serve cold.
- For variations you can add sliced, fresh mushrooms, a few bits of chopped red bell pepper, and/or a bit of chopped fresh white onion.
