Delicious Old Fashioned Prune Cake With Buttermilk Glaze

- 4 *whisked* eggs shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup cooking oil shopping list
- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cloves shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1 cup *cooked real soft* prunes shopping list
- buttermilk glaze shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon soda shopping list
- 2 sticks butter shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, add whisked eggs and sugar
- Beat until lemon color
- Add oil, beat well
- Combine flour, salt, soda, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon
- Combine with egg mixture, beating on low
- Add buttermilk and prunes
- Mix well
- Bake at 300 degrees in a greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour or until firm
- Let cool in pan for about 10 minutes
- Turn onto cake plate
- Punch a few holes in cake before drizzling on glaze
- Drizzle with buttermilk glaze OR *may glaze in pan*
- BUTTERMILK GLAZE
- Combine all ingredients in a saucepan
- Boil for 1 minute
- Pour over cake in pan or drizzle over cake
- Be sure and let the glaze *soak* into the cake
