Ingredients
- 4 ounces of monterey jack cheese with jalapeno peppers in it, buy already cubed or cut block into 24 cubes.
- 24 ( 2 inch square wonton wrappers
- peanut or vegetable , or canola oil for frying
- _HOT SAUCE AS FOLLOWS
- 1/3 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup seeded chopped tomato
- 1 tablespoon chopped canned jalapeno peppers
- 1- 1/2 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 -8 ounce can tomato sauce
- cook onion and garlic in a sauce pan over medium heat , stirring constantly until tender. add tomato and remaining ingredients; cook until thoroughly heated, stirring occ. serve warm.

- place 1 cheese cube in center of each wonton wrapper,moisten edges of wonton wrapper lightly with water. fold each wonton wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing edges together to seal.
- pour oil to depth of 1 1/2 inches into a wok ,fryer or skillet; heat to 375 degrees
- fry wontons only 6 at a time , for 30 seconds on each side just until golden brown dont over cook.
- drain on paper towels,
- serve immed. with warm hot sauce ; yields 2 dozen
