Paula Deens Tuna Burgers with Reenies Asian Onion Salsa

- 2 (6-ounce) cans solid white tuna, drained shopping list
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs shopping list
- 2 large eggs, lightly beaten shopping list
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion shopping list
- 1/2 cup finely chopped celery shopping list
- 1 tablespoon chopped pimento, optional shopping list
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons prepared horseradish shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 1 tablespoon olive oil shopping list
- Asian Style Onion salsa shopping list
- 1 tbls. sesame seeds shopping list
- 2 tbls lime juice, fresh shopping list
- 1 tbls. sesame oil shopping list
- 1 tbls. soy sauce shopping list
- 1 tsp. sugar shopping list
- 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes shopping list
- 1 cup sweet onion, finely chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced shopping list
- 2 tbls. red bell pepper, finely chopped shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Tuna burgers
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, combine the tuna, bread crumbs, and egg, and stir lightly. Add the onion, celery, pimento (if using), lemon juice, horseradish, garlic, and pepper, and mix again. Form the mixture into 4 patties. Heat the oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat and cook the patties, covered, until golden brown. Carefully flip the patties and cook the other side for 5 minutes. Finish baking in the oven until golden brown.
- Salsa
- Toast sesame seeds in skillet over medium low heat until golden brown
- Cool
- Add lime juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, red pepper flakes in a mixing bowl
- Add onion, green onion, red pepper, and sesame seeds and salt and pepper
- Toss to coat
