How to make it

  • Put bread chunks in bowl with the milk--fold till milk is absorbed
  • beat in sugars , beaten eggs , and butter.
  • pour into unbaked pie shell--{i use a frozen pie shell}
  • sprinkle chopped pecans all over the top
  • bake @ 350' for 35-40 mins untill pie is set.

    My mom and i have done a little research on this recipe and as far as we can tell , it goes back to about the mid 1800's it came from my great aunt and it came from her mother --possibly her grand mother..its been a longgggg time since pecans were a nickel lol!

    My mother-in-law loves pecan pie. I'll have to try this sometime for a holiday meal. Looks easier than most pecan pie recipes!
