How to make it

  • Blend together cream cheese and softened butter in a medium sized bowl.
  • Mix in chicken, salt, pepper, milk and onion.
  • If you wish, refrigerate until you are ready to bake later or tomorrow.
  • Separate crescent rolls into 4 rectangles, sealing perforations by pressing with your fingers or a small roller.
  • Divide chicken mixture into 4 portions, and spoon onto the center of rectangles.
  • Pull the four corners up to meet at the top center of chicken mixture, twisting slightly and sealing edges.
  • Brush the tops with the melted butter and dip in crouton crumbs.
  • Bake in preheated 350 oven 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Heat gravy and serve over chicken squares.
