THIS IS TRULY AN OLD IRISH RECIPE, IT WAS DESIGNED TO SATISFY THE SWEET TOOTH OF THE CHILDREN OF THE PIONEER DAYS

Ingredients
  • FOR SYRUP..........
  • 2 CUPS SUGAR
  • 3 CUPS HOT WATER
  • 1 TABLESPOON BUTTER
  • PINCH OF SALT
  • FOR DUMPLINGS..................
  • 1/2 CUP BUTTER
  • 1 TABLESPOON SUGAR
  • 1 CUP MILK
  • 2 CUPS FLOUR
  • 1 EGG

Directions
  1. SYRUP........ MELT 1/2 CUP SUGAR IN 8X11 CAKE PAN.
  2. ADD 3 CUPS HOT WATER, BUTTER, AND REST OF SUGAR AND SALT.
  3. FOR DUMPLINGS............
  4. MIX ALL INGREDIENTS WELL AND DROP BY TABLESPOONS
  5. IN HOT SYRUP.
  6. BAKE 20 MINUTES IN 350 DEGREES F. OVEN THEN SERVE
