This is a soup recipe that Ive had for years...It makes alot of soup which part can be frozen for a later time.. Its rich and hearty...

Ingredients
  • 1 stick of butter or margarine
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef, sauted and seasoned lightly
  • 2 cans mixed vegetables or 1 1/2 bags frozen stew vegetables
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 8-10 cups of water
  • 1 16 oz can of tomato sauce

Directions
  1. Melt margarine in soup pot on top of stove.
  2. Mix flour to make a paste, brown lightly.
  3. Add water to this mixture.
  4. Add sauted ground beef that has been lightly seasoned.
  5. Add mixed vegetables, onions, and tomato sauce.
  6. Add bouillon and salt and pepper
  7. Bring this to a boil, reduce heat to simmer and cook for about
  8. 2 hours. This can also be cooked in a crock pot.
  9. Fresh vegetables can also be used instead of can or frozen ones.
