Instant Rolls

- 3 Package dry yeast shopping list
- 1/2 Cup Warm water shopping list
- 5 Cups unsifted self-rising flour shopping list
- 1/2 Cup sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon Soda shopping list
- 1 Cup shortening shopping list
- 2 Cups buttermilk shopping list
How to make it
- Dissolve yeast in warm water
- Mix flour,sugar and soda
- Cut in shortening
- Over low heat,heat buttermilk to lukewarm
- Add to flour mixture along with the yeast
- Mix well
- Cover and refrigerate over night
- Turn out on well floured surface, work in additional flour if dough is too sticky to handle.
- Pat or Roll out
- Cut with biscuit cutter
- Place on greased baking sheet and let rise
- Bake in 400 degree oven
- 10 to 12 minutes
- Makes 3 to 4 Dozen Rolls
- Note:
- Mixture may be refrigerated several days.
- If desired,rolls may be baked without allowing to rise.
- They may also be cut out and frozen.
- When ready to use,place frozen rolls on greased baking sheet and let rise.Bake according to recipe
- Frozen Rolls should be used within 2 weeks
