Dead Mans Bones

Ingredients
- 2 lb. cake flour (1 box) shopping list
- 2 lb. powdered sugar shopping list
- 6 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 7 large eggs shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla or rind of small orange shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar and vanilla or rind.
- In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Sift 3 times.
- Combine the above -- work quickly.
- Roll out to loaf length and about ¾" wide - cut into about 1-½" lengths.
- Place on slightly greased cookie sheet.
- Space -- they spread when baked.
- Cover -- let rest 24 hours.
- Bake 350̊ F for 15 minutes.
- Makes approximately 93 cookies.
- As the cookies bake, the top of cookies puff up almost like a meringue and believe it or not they DO LOOK LIKE DEAD MEN'S BONES!
- They freeze well.
