Candied Violets Recipe
These are generally used in a special cake project but I bet creative minds could come up with other uses.

Ingredients
  • 1 c sugar + extra
  • 1/2 c water
  • Fresh violet blossoms

Directions
  1. Combine 1 c of sugar plus the water in a saucepan and boil until syrup spins a thread.
  2. Cool to room temperature.
  3. Using tweezers, dip blossoms into syrup and shake off excess syrup.
  4. Dip into granulated sugar.
  5. Place on wax paper and dry thoroughly before using.

It is vital that the violets (or whatever plant you use) is pesticide-free.


You could use them in ice cream too.
