BEEF LOG Recipe
I have made these and given them to friends they seam to really like them i use Buffalo meat.....but have made with beef and they taste GREAT

Ingredients
  • prep time does not include the kneading time
  • 5 LB Hamburger, not to lean ( if using a lean Wild Meat must add some fat)
  • 2 ½ tsb Garlic salt
  • 2 ½ tsb Mustard seed
  • 2 ½ tsb Coarse Pepper
  • 2 ½ tsb Liquid Smoke
  • 5 tsb Mortons Tender Quick salt

Directions
  1. Mix One day and Knead every day for four days (knead about 5 minutes). On the fifth day put into rolls and bake at 150 degrees for 8 hours.
  2. Bake 4 hours turn over and bake 4 more hours. Bake on broiler rack so drippings can drain off.
  3. When done wrap in paper towel to soak up greese, then wrap in handi-wrap.
  4. Slice thin and serve.

Sounds like good snack for high iron momma!


I like this with venison and pork mixture. I would love to try the buffalo. Would you say 10 or 20% soot added?
