How to make it

  • SAUCE
  • Caramelize onion in oil. Add carrots and sauté until soft. Add garlic and sauté for 3 minutes. Stir in tomato paste until well combined. Stir in tomato juice, sugar, butter, salt, and pepper. Simmer 2 to 3 hours, until sauce thickens. Meanwhile, make the meatballs.
  • MEATBALLS
  • Mix breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, cheese, butter, salt, pepper, and a sprinkling of allspice until well combined.
  • Break up meat and mix just until combined.
  • Brown meatballs in batches and drain grease. Keep warm on a plate in microwave as you cook all of the meatballs.
  • Serve sauce and meatballs with hot cooked spaghetti.
