Ingredients

SAUCE

2 small onion, chopped (or 1 large onion)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup carrot, shredded

4 garlic clove, crushed

6 ounces Contadina tomato paste

64 ounces campbell's tomato juice

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon sugar

1 tablespoon butter

1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt

fresh ground pepper

MEATBALLS

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons milk

4 egg, beaten

1/4 onion, finely minced

4 garlic clove, crushed

1 cup parmesan cheese, grated

2 tablespoons butter, room temperature

1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt

fresh ground pepper

allspice

1 lb ground chuck

1 lb ground turkey breast

Directions

SAUCE

Caramelize onion in oil. Add carrots and sauté until soft. Add garlic and sauté for 3 minutes. Stir in tomato paste until well combined. Stir in tomato juice, sugar, butter, salt, and pepper. Simmer 2 to 3 hours, until sauce thickens. Meanwhile, make the meatballs.

MEATBALLS

Mix breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, cheese, butter, salt, pepper, and a sprinkling of allspice until well combined.

Break up meat and mix just until combined.

Brown meatballs in batches and drain grease. Keep warm on a plate in microwave as you cook all of the meatballs.

Serve sauce and meatballs with hot cooked spaghetti.
