Creamed Ham In Toast Cups Recipe

Ingredients
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • pinch of white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp of thyme
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 cup of milk, 2%
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 cups of chopped cooked ham
  • 1 cup of frozen green peas
  • 1 cup of whole kernal corn
  • Paprika

Directions
  1. Cut off the crusts from the bread.
  2. Slightly flatten bread with a rolling pin.
  3. brush with melted butter and press into a muffin tin.
  4. butter both sides
  5. Bake 350 degrees for ten minutes.
  6. While the bread bakes, make your sauce using the remaining butter in a sauce pan.
  7. Whisk in flour, thyme, nutmeg and pepper.
  8. cook over low heat a minute.
  9. Add milk/cream and stir, cooking over medium heat until thick
  10. Add the ham, vegetables. (no salt needed, you get that from the ham)
  11. Ladle into warm toast cups and sprinkle with paprika.
