My mother asked "where are the poppy seeds?" and the clerk said "I thought those were illegal".... I sure hope not! If you do decide to "pop in", please call first!

Ingredients
  • 1 box(181/2 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 package (31/2 oz) instant vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup sherry
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions
  1. Grease & flour cake pan
  2. Stir together cake mix, pudding, oil, sherry, sour cream and poppy seeds.
  3. Add egg yolks and beat 2 minutes
  4. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff and fold into first mixture.
  5. Fold in walnuts.
  6. Bake in 10 inch Bundt or tube pan at 350 degrees F for 40 - 50 minutes
  7. Good with a lemon juice & powdered sugar glaze!
