How to make it

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 F.
  • Combine cake mix, eggs, pumpkin, evaporated milk and vegetable oil in a large mixing bowl. Beat at low speed until moistened.
  • Beat at medium speed for two minutes; stir in the morsels. Pour into a well greased and floured bunt cake pan.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick is inserted into the center and comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack for 25 minutes.
  • Frosting:
  • In a large bowl, cream margarine and shortening until light and fluffy.
  • Add salt, vanilla and confectioner’s sugar and milk. Beat well.

    I'm so glad you enjoyed the recipe! And yes there is a substitution, use a yellow cake mix and add the following:

    2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    dash of ground clove
    dash of ground allspice
