Cherry and Gooseberry Jam

- 2 lb red cherries shopping list
- 2 lb ripe gooseberries shopping list
- 4 lb sugar shopping list
- 2 lemons; juice of shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon lemon zest shopping list
How to make it
- Stalk and pit the cherries; top and tail the gooseberries.
- Simmer gently for about 25 minutes.
- Add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Add the lemon juice and zest.
- Bring to a soft boil and boil for about 15 minutes, stirring
- frequently.
- Gooseberry skins will become tough if boiled too rapidly.
- Test for setting, skim, and turn into hot jars and cover and seal, according to canning directions.
