Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 tblsp butter
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tblsp brown sugar
  • 2 tblsp molasses
  • tobasco sauce to taste (a few drops)
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • salt to taste
  • 15oz (large can) baked beans
  • sliced spam or hotdogs (or both, or whatever)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. In a large saucepan, melt butter, saute onions
  3. Meanwhile, mix together ketchup, sugar, molasses, flavorings, and salt. (can be done in one measuring cup if you're careful, no bowl needed) when the onions are done, add this to the pot, stir, and bring to a boil
  4. Stir in your beans (liquid and all) and resume boil for 2 to 3 minutes
  5. Place your meat slices on the bottom of 9"x9" pan and poor boiling bean mix overtop. Place pan in oven, bake about 20 min or until bubbling happily.

I like your sense of humor. My husband would definitely agree with you. He loves spam, hot dogs and molases. He would be a happy camper to have them every night! When winter approaches he always says, "Time to stock up on spam." When we first got married he even went as far as to buy a "Spam" t-shirt. I just rolled my eyes. Opposites attract?
