- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 cup sour cream shopping list
- 1 cup milk or 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 3 eggs separated shopping list
- powdered sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl..
- Make a well in center and add the yolks and sour cream and milk or buttermilk and mix and blend well.
- Beat whites till soft peaks and stir into the batter.
- Heat the pan over medium heat and add a bit of oil or butter to each hole ( or spray with cooking oil ) each time pan is filled.
- Fill holes 2/3 to 3/4 full.
- Cook a few minutes and carefully turn to cook other side.
- This can be a bit tricky until one gets used to doing this.
- Sometimes a knitting needle is used to lift and turn but I use rim of a spoon to do this.
- If they come apart, they still will cook up nicely.
- Cook golden brown.
- Remove from pan and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
- Serve with any other syrup or condiment one serves with pancakes.
- About 7 balls per serving.
- Serve if desired with assorted toppings or dust with powder sugar
