How to make it

  • Butter an oblong baking dish.
  • Cook potatoes in boiling salted water until tender then drain and allow to cool.
  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • In the same saucepan over medium heat sauté onion in butter for 10 minutes.
  • Stir in flour and pepper then broth and bring to a boil and boil 1 minute stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat then whisk in mustard and horseradish.
  • Slice potatoes 1/2" thick and layer in baking dish.
  • Cover potatoes with sauce and sprinkle with breadcrumbs then bake 20 minutes.
