How to make it

  • Cut meat into thin strips about 2 inches long
  • Dip in the syrup, coat in cornflour
  • Quick-fry the meat on both sides in the oil, let drain
  • Put fresh oil in the pan, add sugar and let it turn brown
  • Add prepared mix of soy, vinegar, ginger, sherry, salt, with a bit of cornflour added
  • When the sauce thickens, return meat, stir to heat
  • Serve on a warm dish

    It won't be as good; with beef it's very bland. Venison might be a better choice.
