Ingredients

5 oz. lamb

1 Tbsp. golden syrup

2 Tbsp. castor sugar

1 tsp. cornflour

Mix of:

1 Tbsp. soy sauce

1 Tbsp. sherry

1 tsp. vinegar

pinch of ground ginger

1/2 tsp. salt

oil

Directions

Cut meat into thin strips about 2 inches long

Dip in the syrup, coat in cornflour

Quick-fry the meat on both sides in the oil, let drain

Put fresh oil in the pan, add sugar and let it turn brown

Add prepared mix of soy, vinegar, ginger, sherry, salt, with a bit of cornflour added

When the sauce thickens, return meat, stir to heat

Serve on a warm dish

It won't be as good; with beef it's very bland. Venison might be a better choice.
