Hot Mulled Wine Recipe
This is so good going down spicy and hot! It's one of our longtime holiday favorites! NOTE: There is an overnight prep on this that's really easy, and it really enhances the spicy flavors in the wine!

Ingredients
  • 2 quarts Burgundy or other other dry red wine
  • 2 quarts apple juice
  • 3 (3-inch) sticks cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice
  • Cheesecloth

Directions
  1. Combine wine and apple juice in a large container.
  2. Tie spices in a cheesecloth; add to wine mixture.
  3. Cover and chill wine several hours or overnight.
  4. Pour mixture into a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer 3 to 5 minutes.
  6. Remove spice bag.
  7. Serve hot.
  8. Yield: 1 gallon.
