How to make it

  • Bring water to boil with cinn. stick and star anise
  • Boil for 1min. let steep for 5 min.
  • Strain water and use for the cooking liquid
  • Add salt and bring to boil
  • Once boiling add farina slowly stiring the whole time
  • Lower heat to simmer for 5 min.
  • Fold in cream cheese, sugar, and butter
  • Set aside as you prepare pineapple syrup
  • For syrup:
  • In a saute pan add butter and brown sugar cook for about 2-3 min.
  • Add pineapple and cook for an additional minute
  • Once ready Spray Muffin tins or souffle dishes with pan spray
  • Ladle syrup and pineapple into tins about 1/4 of the way full
  • Using spoons spoon farina onto top of pineapple syrup to the top
  • Bake in a 350 oven for 15 min
  • Let sit for about ten minutes then flip them over onto plate, garnish with any extra syrup you have left over
